Town and Country has completed its expansive, multi-million dollar transformation, including new restaurant ARLO. Town and Country cues all eras of the resort’s celebrated history throughout its new spaces, creating a fresh, reimagined mid-century modern resort.
ARLO is their chef-driven restaurant that celebrates the San Diego lifestyle and Cali-Baja culinary culture with scratch-made dishes using fresh local ingredients and regional flavors from both sides of the border. The fun, fresh, quirky environment is highlighted by a sweeping outdoor patio, swaying palm trees and a giant outdoor fireplace. Rounding out the experience is an inventive cocktail program, extensive wine list and local craft beer on tap.
Chef Josh Mouzakes’ vision for ARLO is that the food and beverage program “is not constrained by boundaries.” That’s a perfect description for ARLO’s cross-border influences and his own career including time at Thomas Keller’s The French Laundry, the three-Michelin-starred restaurant known as one of the finest restaurants in the world.
Hightlights on the ARLO dinner menu include the Lamb Meatballs to start, with Raz El Hanout Sauce, Gruyere Cheese, and Carrot Caper Slaw. For a unique and flavorful vegetarian entree, try the Thai Carrot Pasta with Coconut Lime Broth, Bok Choy, Serrano Peppers, and Hearts of Palm. The highlight of the menu is the Flat Steak Carne Asada, a twist on a classic steak plate with Saffron Frittes, Roasted Garlic, and Oyster Mushrooms. For dessert, try the popular S’mores Cheesecake, a rich, gooey combination.
