June 2 – Monzu Fresh Pasta Grand Opening
On Saturday, June 2 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. new restaurant Monzu Fresh Pasta in the heart of East Village invites the public to its Grand Opening featuring complimentary tastes of chef’s whim pasta creations. A sampling of this day’s “pop-up pastas” are expected to span from crispy fried stuffed ravioli and chocolate-filled ravioli to novel pasta cupcakes and more, while supplies last. June 9 – David Francisco Performs at Backyard Kitchen & Tap
Head to Backyard Kitchen & Tap on June 9th from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. for a special performance by the American Idol contestant and inspirational musician, David Francisco. Paralyzed from the waist down after being hit by a motorist while riding his bike back in 2016, David has miraculously prevailed, and become a musical sensation through his perseverance and undeniable talent. June 10 – Yoga After Dark
On June 10, Horton Plaza Park will transform into a wellness enthusiasts’ dream for the launch of Yoga After Dark (YAD) festival—a one-night only event where yoga and silent disco meet under the glow of the moon and twinkling stars.
Beginning at 6:30 p.m., yogis of all levels are invited to gather at the epic outdoor space for a social hour equipped with a mindful vendor market, local artists, glowing body art dubbed “peace paint” and mood music. The 10th annual Taste of Little Italy will return to the culinary hub on Wednesday, June 13—making every foodie’s dream a reality by providing San Diegans the opportunity to enjoy bites from nearly 20 restaurants in the neighborhood all in ONE night! June 14 – Cocktails and Comedians
If your idea of a good time includes laughing ‘til it hurts, join ginger’s in the Gaslamp District on Thursday June 14th for Cocktails and Comedians. This event features a hilarious lineup of stand-up comedians including Steve Simeone, a regular at Hollywood’s The Comedy Store. Having also appeared on Comedy Central’s This Is Not Happening, the evening promises plenty of laughs.
Ginger’s, which is located just below barleymash, is a sophisticated cocktail lounge featuring live music and DJs throughout the week, along with and Tuesday karaoke night. June 19 – Crawfish Cookout Eating Contest
Pacific Beach Fish Shop’s is hosting its annual crawfish cookout eating contest on Tuesday, June 19th. Fishmonger’s boil up fresh, live crawfish prior to the competition and toss in all the fixin’s like corn on the cob, potatoes and andouille sausage. The event, which begins in the evening, will consist of 14 participants (seven guys and seven gals) bibbing-up to devour two pounds of the Cajun crustaceans. The first to finish wins a championship crawfish medal, crawfish swag and bragging rights. The spicy Cajun boil will also be on the menu for the crowd to enjoy, while they cheer on the competitors. Fish Shop, which has been a PB staple since opening in 2010, serves the freshest fish and coldest beer in the area.
June 20 – Sip into Summer Wine Series

June 21 – Distiller’s Tasting
In celebration of a collaboration three years in the making, Royale will officially launch the release of Old Harbor’s “1542 California Native Botanical Gin” with an open to the public ‘sip and see’ on Thursday, June 21. Old Harbor founder & distiller Michael Skubic will be on-hand for the celebration. Joining Jordan Brownwood behind the bar will be guest bartenders Gareth Moore (Born & Raised) and Trevor Bowles (Blueprint Spirits), who will be mixing up gin-forward specialty cocktails priced at $5 each.
