March 2-3 – 13th Annual Busker Festival

Happening Saturday, March 2nd, from 12 p.m. – 6 p.m., and Sunday, March 3rd, from 12 p.m. – 6 p.m., the Busker Festival at Seaport Village celebrates the fascinating and unique talents of street performers who come from across the world to entertain us here in San Diego. In its 13th year, this free event – California’s only busker festival – is a family-friendly spectacle and a beloved Seaport Village tradition. View 18 eye-catching and unique acts — like sword swallowing, knife throwing, pogo stick tricks and juggling on unicycles — and help determine the People’s Choice award at Seaport Village on March 2-3. For those 18+, the “Busker After Dark” on Saturday, March 2nd will take place 7-10 p.m. featuring more live acts, and food and beverages for sale.

March 7 – Sunset & Wine Dinner

March 7 – Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Women in Wine Dinner Featuring Pride Mountain Vineyards

In recognition of International Women’s Month, Wine Director, Faith Fulginiti has curated an exclusive five-course tasting menu to feature an impressive selection of wines from Napa’s Pride Mountain Vineyards—regarded one of the most noteworthy female led wineries with winemaker Sally Johnson-Blum at the helm. The menu will feature dishes from Executive Chef Brian Christman including Day Boat Sea Scallop Crudo, Black Truffle Gnocchi, and Rosewood (TX) Wagyu Striploin to name a few. Faith Fulginiti will be spotlight the craft and story of the woman behind the wine, Sally Johnson, female pioneer and lead winemaker at Pride Mountain Vineyards. March 9 – Baldrick’s Shave-a-Thon

The 11th Annual St. Baldrick’s Shave-a-Thon will be held from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 9 at Nason’s Beer Hall for its second consecutive year located at Pendry San Diego! Supporting the Mighty Micah’s Mission Fund, the St. Baldrick’s Shave-a-Thon raises funds and awareness for the volunteer-powered St. Baldrick’s Foundation, providing assistance to children with childhood cancer and their families.

Guests and locals are welcome to join the festivities – whether it’s participating in the annual shave, or supporting with attendance. A $10 donation will grant entry to the event and a $15 donation will grant entry, a St. Baldrick’s t- shirt and a raffle ticket.

March 9 – Best Coast Beer Fest

Best Coast Beer Fest is returning to San Diego’s scenic Embarcadero Marina Park South on March 9th, and will feature over 100 of San Diego’s home-grown craft breweries, plus food trucks and local entertainment for the city’s beer-lovers and foodies to enjoy. Taking place from 12 – 4 p.m., the event will not only showcase San Diego’s rich craft beer scene, but will also raise money for Cuck Fancer, an organization dedicated to raising awareness for young adult cancer, and helping survivors get back on their feet.

March 13 – Downtown Clean Up 

Next Wednesday, March 13th fresh casual concept, Tocaya Organica, will be hosting a Downtown Clean Up and Neighborhood Appreciation Day at the Gaslamp location. As part of the charitable arm of Tocaya Organica, TocayaLife seeks to contribute to the local communities where the modern organic Mexican spots are found. To celebrate in San Diego, join the staff in a Downtown Clean Up from 10am-12pm on Wednesday March 13th with lunch to follow for a healthy refuel. To ensure that everyone can get in on the delicious fun, Tocaya Gaslamp will also host a Neighborhood Appreciation Day all day on Wednesday, March 13th. March 14 – Mario Kart Madness

3…2…1…Get ready to pedal to the metal at Park 101’s Mario Kart Madness event on Thursday, March 14th! The Carlsbad open-air dining establishment will be hosting a tournament, which begins at 6:00 p.m., where competitors can show off their Mario Kart skills on a giant projector screen. There will be plenty of food and drink specials for participants and observers to enjoy! The Grand Prize is $100, so start practicing now because there is a lot at stake during this high-intensity tournament. March 14 – Cinema Twain

Theatre Box is hosting a special screening of Val Kilmer’s one-man play, “Cinema Twain,” on Thursday, March 14.  The evening will begin with hosted beverages at 6 p.m. followed by a showing of “Cinema Twain” at 7:30 p.m. At the conclusion of the film, guests will be invited to participate in a Q-and-A with Kilmer and hosted dessert in Sugar Factory American Brasserie.

March 20 – JRDN Wine Dinner

JRDN is bringing wine country to the beach for a five-course Venge + Croix Winemaker Dinner, on Wednesday, March 20 from 6 PM – 9 PM. Executive Chef David Warner and Sommelier Chris Delaney have teamed up with Venge + Croix winemakers to bring guests a night of hand-selected wine paired perfectly with a five-course menu. March 21 – Sip & Savasana

In celebration of the spring equinox, Kimpton Solamar Hotel is hosting their next Sip & Savasana rooftop yoga event on Thursday, March 21, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with yoga starting promptly at 5:45 p.m. The light vinyasa flow yoga class will take place at the hotel’s Upper East Bar rooftop, overlooking the downtown San Diego skyline. Complimentary sips of the hotel and 32 North Brewing Company’s newly crafted beer called ‘Considerate Gentleman’ will be served before and after class.

March 22 – Bankers Hill Art & Craft Beer Festival

Following past years’ sold out events, the Bankers Hill Art & Craft Beer Festival in partnership with the San Diego Brewers Guild will return for its seventh year running on Friday, March 22 from 6 to 9 p.m. Taking place throughout the two levels of The Abbey on Fifth Avenue, a historic 10,000-square foot venue, this 21+ event will showcase more than a dozen of San Diego craft breweries and Bankers Hill eateries alongside pop-up galleries of local artists’ works and live DJ music, and is expected to draw more than 500 attendees. The 7th Annual Bankers Hill Art & Craft Beer Festival is co-sponsored by Metro CDC and the San Diego Brewers Guild. Tickets to the festival are priced at $30 per person ($25 early bird pricing through February 28; $35 day of) at www.bankershillbusinessgroup.com/events and at the door while supplies last.

March 22 – Salt & Straw Grand Opening in Del Mar

Salt & Straw ice cream opens its first Del Mar scoop shop and second location in San Diego within the One Paseo mixed-use development. The Del Mar scoop shop showcases flavors that tell a story about beloved California-based artisans and products with offerings such as custom San Diego favorites such as Peanut Butter Stout with Chocolate Chicharrón and James Coffee and Bourbon as well as classic flavors such as Sea Salt with Caramel Ribbons.

March 23 – Blind Wine Tasting Class

Join the wine aficionados at CUCINA urbana and enjoy an afternoon spent blind tasting with Master of Wine, Lindsay Pomeroy. On Saturday, March 23rd at 12 p.m. imbibers can enjoy wine tasting alongside a sampling of CUCINA’s California-Italian fare for $55 per guest. All wine will be available for purchase after the event. Saturday, March 23 – Vodka Fest

Shaken or stirred, on the rocks or straight up, the options are endless at Vintana’s Vodka Fest on Saturday, March 23rd. Guests can taste a variety of vodkas and learn about each brand, including Grey Goose, Cutwater, You & Yours, Ketel One and more. Partake in a blind tasting challenge, craft your own spritzer, and enjoy specially made appetizers from Executive Chef Deborah Scott. March 23 – Beer Brunch

Join the master brewers behind Societe Brewing Company as they collaborate with Executive Chef Ronnie Schwandt for a special Beer Brunch at Leroy’s Kitchen + Lounge. Come across the Coronado bridge for a day full of brunch favorites from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., including Chilaquiles with pork adobada and French Toast with fruity pebbles, alongside special collaboration dishes featuring Societe beer. March 24 – National Cheesesteak Day

What better place to grub on National Cheesesteak Day on Sunday, March 24 than a spot started by a Philly native? Known for its pizza, Surf Rider Pizza Co. also specializes in authentic Philly Cheesesteaks straight from the recipe book of Pennsylvanian and Surf Rider Pizza Co. co-founder, Hilary Rossi. These delicious cheesesteaks are exclusively served at the Ocean Beach and La Mesa locations and the classic cheesesteak and chicken cheesesteak will be 20 percent off all day Sunday, March 24 for the holiday!

Tuesday, March 26 + Wednesday, March 27 – Chefs Catch Dinner

Catch one of the city’s most exciting “chefs to watch” as Travis Swikard (former culinary director for legendary chef Daniel Boulud) joins the team at Ironside Fish & Oyster for a March installment of Ironside’s Chef’s Catch Dinner Series.

Travis is getting into the kitchen at Ironside for a two-day pop-up to offer diners an à la carte menu featuring his choice of sustainable seafood sourced directly from Tuna Harbor Dockside Market. March 28 – Opening Day


10 Barrel
On March 28, 10 Barrel San Diego will be hosting an Opening Day post-game event with live music on their rooftop from 5 – 9 p.m. and a special $10 offering that includes a hot dog, beer and a hat. This $10 special will continue through the Padres’ first homestand.

Cafe 222 
Cafe 222 will step up to the plate with the Cracker Jack Stack, available exclusively on Padres Opening Day, Thursday, March 28. A twist on the classic baseball snack, the Cracker Jack Stack includes three buttermilk pancakes topped with caramel sauce and Cracker Jacks, priced at $12.95. Cafe 222 is open daily from 7 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. and is less than a half mile from the San Diego Padres’ stadium, Petco Park.

The Morning After
The Morning After will offer “Walk It Off,” two orders of the signature Gaslamp Plate, which includes two eggs any style, choice of Applewood bacon or sausage, low-country grits and house-made biscuits, for $15. The Morning After’s breakfast burrito, made with eggs, sausage or bacon, cheddar cheese, house potatoes, pico de gallo and sour cream, will also be available to pair with a pint of beer for $10. Both offerings are available from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, March 28 through Sunday, March 31.

Mezé Greek Fusion 
Meze will also have a promotion available on Opening Day through the rest of the season. On each game day, the restaurant will offer a Greek beer and the Meze Burger, made with seasoned ground beef and lamb mixed with feta cheese, garlic, onion and mint, sautéed onions, mushrooms, Swiss cheese, fiery feta and garlic aioli, for $15; or guests can get 10 percent off their bill with proof of a ticket.

March 30 – Made in San Diego Block Party

Local award-winning brewery Ballast Point and the Little Italy Association of San Diego will host the “Made in San Diego Block Party” on Saturday, March 30, 2019, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on India St, W Ivy St, and W Juniper St surrounding the Ballast Point Little Italy Tasting Room. The event will celebrate the San Diego brands that have called America’s Finest City their longtime home by bringing together San Diego breweries, music, food, artists and more.
 
The event is free based on capacity with suggested donation to the Little Italy Association of San Diego and is open to the 21+ public. RSVP is required here. Beer sampling ticket options are also available.
 
March 31 – Over the TOP Sunday 

 

Capture sparkling Pacific Ocean views from 40 floors up with a glass of bubbly in hand at Manchester Grand Hyatt’s Top of the HyattThe sky-high bar and lounge is hosting their second Over the TOP Sunday with two seatings from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. and 12 – 2 p.m.
