Celebrating 25 years of Irish revelry, San DiegoshamROCK is back and better than ever to paint the Gaslamp Quarter green with San Diego’s largest Saint Patrick’s Day block party! Over 20,000 attendees from across the U.S. will frolic through the clover field streets covered in 50,000 square ft of green astroturf while shaking their shamROCKs across 3 stages of non-stop live performances by nationally recognized Irish rock and Celtic bands, top DJs and more!
Celebrate St. Paddy’s Day all weekend long at Union Kitchen & Tap Gaslamp, and kick off the festivities Dublin-style at 4 p.m. on Saturday, with $5 Jameson shots and Breckenridge Stout until close, plus a DJ spinning from 10 p.m. – close. Keep the party going on St. Patrick’s Day with live music from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., and get your drink on with green beer and Jameson specials available all day. Foodies can get their fill of St. Paddy’s Day eats with Corned Beef Hash & Eggs until 2 p.m., followed by Corned Beef & Cabbage Dinner from 2 p.m. – close on both Saturday and Sunday.
Bub’s @ the Beach in Pacific Beach will celebrate the lucky day with their Corned Beef & Hash Sandwich, plus festive drink specials including Green Mimosas and their Cup of Gold Mule of the Month, comprised of Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey, ginger beer, fresh lime and bitters, garnished with a rainbow gummy and gold coins.

Just in time for green-spirited revelry, Executive Chef Nick Paulerio is rolling out their inaugural weekend brunch menu from 10 AM- 3 PM on Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, March 17. The menu features a selection of food and drink specials including $15 bottomless Prosecco Mimosas, House-Cured Pork Belly Chilaquiles,Duck Hash & Eggs, anda Breakfast Flatbread. They’ll also be serving up specialty cocktails to bring out the Irish in you all weekend long.
You’ll find Irish eyes smiling at Corner Drafthouse, the unofficial headquarters of the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 16. With more than 30,000 participants, the hometown parade is the largest of its kind west of the Mississippi. If you find yourself at the starting line on Fifth Ave. and Laurel St. march your way on over to Corner Drafthouse, where you can choose from 70 taps of Southern California’s best beers and beyond. Showcasing an appreciation of Ireland’s unique vegetation, the Irish Garden is made with Dingle Irish gin, house-made nettle and barley cordial, house-made apple and nasturtium green juice, Tempus Fugit crème de menthe glaciale, honey and lime, and is available for $12.
Prohibition, GBOD Hospitality Group’s underground speakeasy located in the Gaslamp Quarter, will mix Jameson with a dash of Guinness for a cocktail that’s double the trouble. The Irish 2-for-1, priced at $13, is made with Jameson Black Barrel, Guinness demerara reduction, R&D aromatic #7 bitters and R&D cherry apple bitters.
Wake up feeling lucky this St. Patrick’s Day at The Morning After, which will offer two celebratory featured offerings, The Leprechaun Special and St. Paddy Cakes. The Leprechaun Special will pair The Morning After’s signature breakfast burrito, made with eggs, choice of sausage or bacon, cheddar cheese, house potatoes, pico de gallo and sour cream; with a pint of green lager. Created exclusively for the holiday, St. Paddy Cakes will include a stack of four pancakes topped with Lucky Charms cereal, served with butter and syrup.
Primavera Ristorante, located in Coronado, is “Dublin” the fun with two vibrant cocktails to get guests into the Irish spirit. Both created exclusively for the holiday, the St. Paddy’s Sour is made with Jameson Irish whiskey, lime juice, lemon juice and simple syrup, garnished with a lime wheel and mint spring. The Grasshopper is made with green crème de menthe, half-and-half, white crème de cacao and garnished with green sprinkles.
Havana 1920, GBOD Hospitality Group’s intimate Cuban restaurant located in the Gaslamp Quarter, will offer a refreshing alternative to green beer with a reimagined mojito. The Sunburnt Irishman, priced at $12, is made with Jameson Caskmates, fresh lime juice, fresh mint, fresh blood orange puree, demerara syrup, fresh sugar cane and R&D sarsaparilla bitters.
Monkey King, GBOD Hospitality Group’s Southeast Asian-inspired restaurant, combines ingredients from the Emerald Isle and the islands of the South Pacific for its celebratory cocktail, the Whisky Mai Tai. Priced at $12, the Whisky Mai Tai is made with whisky, toasted cashew orgeat, lime, dry curaçao and R&D house bitters.
Say ¡salud! and sláinte at El Chingon. GBOD Hospitality Group’s “Bad Ass Mexican” restaurant will toast to the holiday with the Irishman Abroad. The cocktail, priced at $12, is made with Tullamore D.E.W., El Jimador tequila, fresh lime juice, Cointreau and R&D house bitters.
Head to Cusp Dining & Drinks on the 11th floor of Hotel La Jolla where the bar will be offering Bubbly Around the Clock. Glasses of bubbly with a hint of Irish spirit will start at $4 at 4pm, and go up $1 every hour.
