Nothing quite compares to a cool cocktail next to the pool, especially during this warm San Diego summer! We’ve compiled recipes of some of the city’s best sips – a fruity rum cocktail from Miss B’s Coconut Club, a slushie-like cocktail from The Smoking Gun and barleymash’s Afternoon Delight – to keep you hydrated while soaking up the sun.
Pro tip: you can double or even quadruple the ingredients to make more for friends who join in on your pool-time fun!
The Reefeater

Ingredients
- 1 oz RumHaven Caribbean Rum
- 1 oz Beefeater Pink Gin
- .5 oz grapefruit juice
- .5 oz lemon juice
- .25 oz chareau aloe
- Dash of simple syrup
- Coconut Red Bull
Instructions
- Combine rum, gin, grapefruit and lemon juice, aloe and simple syrup in a shaker (with ice) and shake until blended.
- Poor over crushed ice into Collins glass and top off with a splash of Coconut Red Bull.
- Garnish with a strawberry.
Trigger Finger

Ingredients
- 1.5 Vodka
- .5 Ancho Reyes
- .5 Giffard Passion Fruit
- .75 Lime
- .25 Campari
- Cracked Pink Himalayan Salt
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to shaker, combine and poor into glass
- Add crushed ice
- Float Campari
- Add a lime wheel for garnish
Afternoon Delight

Ingredients
- 1.5 oz Herradura Reposado Tequila
- .75 oz fresh lime juice
- 1 oz pineapple juice
- .75 oz agave syrup
- 2 slices of jalapeño
Instructions
- Muddle jalapeño
- Add remaining ingredients to shaker
- Shake vigorously and strain over ice
- Garnish with jalapeno slice
