Mixologists and bartenders are always searching for unique mixers to help elevate their concoctions. Cacao juice is the latest bartender obsession, with its naturally vivacious flavor that is both sweet and slightly tart. Even though it comes from the same plant that chocolate does, the cacao juice doesn’t taste chocolate-y at all! Instead, the sweet juice might be more closely compared to lychee juice, but with more complexity. We were recently introduced to Repurposed Pod — a cold-pressed, sustainably sourced, non-GMO 100% virgin cacao juice. This superfood is sustainable and healthy in addition to delicious, making for some delicious cocktails. It uses the white pulp from cacao pod that is often thrown away during chocolate production. Here is a delicious cocktail recipe to try at home:Founders Favorite:2 oz Cacao Juice 3 oz Crown Royal ½ Tbsp. Luxardo Cherry (Shaken with Ice)Instructions Squeeze 1 lime wedge and finish with Club Soda.
