Start with a refreshing and balanced cocktail, like the Time is on My Side, a tall drink with reposado tequila, Aperol, lime and bitters. For a more spirit forward cocktail, try the Beatnik with bourbon, benefictine and lemon.
Dont miss the roasted heirloom carrots, served on labneh and spiced butter drizzled with pistachio pistou, topped with fennel pollen. This dish has my vote as the best roasted carrots in San Diego for its incredible depth of flavor. Also delectable is the beet salad with arugula, pear, herbed goat cheese and marcona almonds dressed in a spiced honey vinaigrette.
On the large plates menu, the delicate and buttery miso-glazed black cod is service with forbidden rice, braised escarole and house-made pickles. For a more decadent option, try the mushroom gnocchi, pillowy gnocchi servied with maitake and beech mushrooms, served with brown butter and topped with fried sage and parmesan.
