As we head into the busy holiday season, embrace the occasion with a commemoration of the cherished customs of Dia De Los Muertos on November 1, featuring mouthwateringly enticing Mexican fare paired with bright and breezy tequila drinks.

Del Sur Mexican Cantina

Dia de los Muertos Celebrations at Volcano Rabbit

Let the celebration continue after Halloween by commemorating Dia De Los Muertos at Volcano Rabbit on Thursday, November 1. The eatery features the Gaslamp District’s largest selection of tequila and an equally impressive lineup of mouthwatering tacos. The Dia De Los Muertos celebration will feature a live DJ, drink feature and in house festivities all night long!

Dia de Los Muertos “Food Memorias

On Thurs/Nov 1, Chef Claudette Zepeda-Wilkins welcomes Top Chef castmate + chef Joe Sasto to El Jardín, her regional Mexican restaurant in San Diego’s Point Loma neighborhood, for a special Dia de Los Muertos “Food Memorias” celebration and dinner. The six-course meal with amuse features collaborative dishes from Joe and Claudette that pay homage to recipes by Joe’s late mother and Claudette’s grandmother — family members that were instrumental in shaping both chefs + their distinct culinary voices. Starting bites include pasta “nachos” from Joe and open-faced mulita grilled chicken taco bites from Claudette, while main offerings include a plated vegetable dish made from produce found in El Jardín’s garden, Braised Oxtail with garden herbs and “mexolata” (a riff on a gremolata with tomatillo and black lime powder) and pig’s feet Tagliatelle, topped with a chicharron crumble. 
 
Reservations can be made between 5pm and 10pm by calling the restaurant at 619.795.2322. The menu is $80 per person. A $45 beverage pairing option is available.
