In San Diego, everyone is Irish— at least during St. Patrick’s Day. If you are looking for celebrations filled with traditional dishes and music of the old country… then you’re in luck! Check out these St. Patrick’s Day celebrations on March 17th that will have you wearing lots of green, not spending it.

 

 Going downtown for the holiday celebrations? You’ll want to head to The “Mc” Waterfront where San Diego’s oldest bar will be bringing back some of the oldest Irish traditions! They’ll be serving Corned Beef & Cabbage dishes all day long, getting into the festive spirit. Not to mention, all natural red heads will get 50% off their bill at all of The Waterfront family of brands locations (including The Hills, Eastbound, Werewolf, Harbortown, Club Marina and Banzai) to celebrate the heritage behind the holiday! Heading towards East county on March 17th? The Hills and Eastbound Bar & Grill will be having St. Paddy’s parties with a pot full of drink and food specials at golden prices. Starting at 11 a.m., both locations will be serving Corned Beef & Cabbage specials for $12.95, until they run out. Drink specials and music are at the end of this rainbow with both locations serving $3 green Budweiser and Guinness specials. To get into the Irish dancing spirit, Eastbound will also have a live acoustic set from 3 – 6 p.m. and both locations will have DJs playing your favorite hits (with a touch of the Irish) from 9 p.m.- close.  Hard Rock Cafe will be hosting their St. Patrick’s Day rock celebration with live acoustic music from 4:30- 6:30 p.m. with Lucky Brent. Then join them for their St. Paddy’s backstage after party with DJ John Joseph, from 8:30 – 11 p.m, that includes a mid-performance toast to the holiday. Party-goers can also enjoy discounts that will save them some green with Happy Hour prices going from 3 – 6 p.m. and 9 – 11 p.m. (including green beers!).  No St. Patrick’s Day is complete without a little bit of whiskey! Thankfully, Whiskey Girl has a huge selection of Irish sips to keep the festivities going all night long. Try their Bushmills that has been aged for 9 and 10 years. Or their Middleton Rare, Feeling Small Batch, Tullamore Dew and Jameson that have an Irish kick as well. 

 

This St. Patrick’s Day, may the luck of the Irish help guests stumble upon a hidden St. Patrick’s Day bar at Little Italy’s own Kettner Exchange. Bartenders will be pouring a Green Chartreuse in addition featuring a specialty cocktail, green beer and festive bubbles in the air. Come for the cocktails and stay for the nautical inspired ambiance, ocean bay views and elevated roof-top dining. 

 

Don’t miss out on green-hued fun this St. Patrick’s Day at FIREHOUSE American Eatery + Lounge in Pacific Beach. This March 17, enjoy $5 Guiness, $6 Jameson and $7 Irish Car Bombs in the downstairs lounge-style bar or the upstairs open-air, rooftop deck. 

 

The Commons, a Downtown San Diego favorite, is known for throwing festive holiday celebrations and St. Patrick’s Day is no different. Guests can enjoy a number of celebratory cocktails including the Irish Pancake Shot, the classic Jameson & Ginger any Guinness beer and specialty wings like the BBQ Guinness wings, tossed in a house-made BBQ Guinness sauce. 

 

Located at The Headquarters, Flour & Barley will be offering the “Luck of the Irish” pie from March 17-19. This unique St. Patrick’s Day dish is topped with pesto cream sauce, corned beef, Brussels sprouts, sausage and potato and will be priced at $17.50

 

Located on the Gaslamp Quarter’s waterfront, Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego overlooks San Diego Bay and has spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. This St. Patricks’s Day, locals and travelers alike can stop by Grand Lobby Bar and enjoy the ultimate Irish celebrations with the St. Paddy’s Day Burger. The decadent burger is hand crafted with Angus and Corned beef, cabbage, Irish cheddar, Jameson BBQ sauce and served on a pumpernickel bun. Those looking for the ultimate Irish pairing can enjoy a cold Sam Adams Boston Lager bottle with the burger. 

 

Located at Paradise Point Resort & Spa, Barefoot Bar & Grill offers guests a true, casual California coastal dining experience with panoramic views of San Diego’s Mission Bay. This St. Patrick’s Day celebrate the luck of the Irish with green beers and traditional Irish eats at the beachfront restaurant. On March 17, guests and locals alike can enjoy festive craft beers, refreshing cocktails, burgers, fresh seafood and more paired with live music in honor of the holiday.

 

Keep your St. Patrick’s Day weekend going at Harrah’s Resort SoCal‘s with Beer Fest at Dive, which will showcase some of the hottest local breweries in San Diego – including Harrah’s Resort SoCal’s new craft brewery SR76. Hosted at the resort’s pool, your ticket gets you a cup for unlimited tastings; access to Dive’s swim-up bar (the only one in SoCal!) and 400-foot lazy river; games including pool volleyball, giant Jenga, beer pong; and a full day of live entertainment. In addition to SR76, other breweries featured include: Ballast Point, Belching Beaver, Firestone, Pizza Port, Green Flash, Alpine Brewery, Golden Road Brewery and St. Archer. Tickets are $35 for the public, $20 for resort guests.

 This St. Patrick’s Day, PB AleHouse is offering two unique dishes for this holiday celebration. Hit the pot of gold by ordering the Corned Beef & Cabbage slow cooked in their Rockfish Red Ale with red potatoes, cabbage and Irish soda bread ($16.95), or the Irish Lamb Stew prepared with Colorado lamb, potatoes, onions, carrots, and peas in their Soledad Stout and with Irish soda bread ($12.95). PB AleHouse is also offering drink specials for an evening of luck with green Bud Light for $4, Jameson shots for $5, and Stout Bombs for $10. Bistro 39 Restaurant & Lounge will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with authenticity this year. Executive Chef Jose Fraire will feature a classic dish of corned beef & cabbage with roasted red potatoes ($22.95). As always, the dish will be made with only the freshest local ingredients from California. While corned beef and cabbage is a staple dish to celebrate the Irish holiday, it will have Chef Fraire’s signature California twist.   Social Tap Eatery will be putting its own spin on St. Patrick’s Day this year. No Social Tap event would be complete without a special taco, so the menu will feature a Corned Beef Taco topped with a mustard aioli ($4.50 per taco). The Lads of Dubuque will be performing live at the East Village location, transforming Social Tap into a traditional Irish pub for the night with their classic Irish and Irish-American folk music.
